A behind-the-scenes peek into my email marketing business (and strategy that keeps me at peace)

Hey, it’s Gregory—your email-obsessed, creativity-loving, rebel coach.

Let me start with this: I don’t spend all week glued to my laptop.

I work on my business four days a week—Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday—and I spend the rest of my time doing what keeps me grounded and inspired: working on creative projects, resting, walking, taking photos, bingeing scary movies, daydreaming, and letting my brain breathe.

Because building a business isn’t just about output. It’s about life.

It’s about creating a rhythm that supports you—not steamrolls you.

So here’s a peek into how I run my business week with ease, creativity, and strategy that actually feels good.

1. Content Creation (3–4 hrs/week)

Every Monday, I focus on creating one core story that fuels everything else—my email, podcast, social posts, and more.

This usually includes:

  1. A weekly story-rich email to my list

  2. Private podcast planning or recording for Inbox Bestie

  3. Writing a new email template for my community.

  4. Outline a new blog post.

Why it works: One strong story becomes the spark for my whole week. I center the story in all 4 areas and riff on it for me list, podcast, and blog. No content mills. No hamster wheels. Just clear, aligned creation.

2. Social Media Strategy (2 hrs/week)

My vibe is intentional visibility, not being glued to my devices 24/7.

Each week I:

  • Schedule 2–3 posts (often repurposed from my email or podcast)

  • Show up on IG stories with insights, realness, and the occasional sparkle

  • Post in relevant FB groups where my audience hangs out—with care

Why it works: Social supports my message, but it’s not the foundation. It’s a tool, not a trap.

3. Email Marketing (3 hrs/week)

This is the heartbeat of my business. Not performative. Not pressure-filled. Just deeply personal marketing that actually connects.

My email time includes:

  • Writing and scheduling my weekly email

  • Reviewing stats to see what’s resonating

  • Tuning up welcome sequences or adding gentle CTAs

  • Dreaming up new ways to serve (not spam) my list

Why it works: The inbox is where I get to be fully myself—and speak directly to the people who want what I offer.

4. Private Podcast Production (2-4 hrs/week)

Inbox Bestie is my cozy corner of the internet—a space for deeper truths and unapologetic guidance.

What I do:

  • Record a short solo episode each week

  • Upload + schedule it for my subscribers

  • Share it through email and simple social posts

Why it works: It’s intimate, low-pressure, and lets me serve my audience without adding more noise to the feed.

5. Blog Growth (1–2 hrs/week)

My blog is where I repurpose and stretch my content’s shelf life—without reinventing anything.

Weekly blog tasks:

  • Turn recent emails, self-reflections or podcast episodes into blog posts

  • Light SEO updates

  • Refresh old posts with updated opt-ins or offers

Why it works: Blog content builds long-term visibility, quietly doing its thing while I rest.

6. Pitching for Podcasts (1 hr/week)

This is my favorite visibility tool—it’s personal, conversational, and relationship-based.

How I pitch:

  • 1–2 personalized emails per week

  • Submit my pitch in the #beaguest #findaguest podcast groups on Facebook

  • Specific topic suggestions + a bio that reflects both strategy and sparkle

  • No chasing. Just connecting.

Why it works: A good podcast convo builds trust faster than a hundred posts. And I get to show up fully as me.

7. Community Engagement (2 hrs/week)

Showing up with kindness and consistency creates more connection than any funnel ever could.

Each week, I:

  • Reply to comments + DMs with intention

  • Support peers and clients inside coaching groups or communities

  • Offer encouragement or insight where it’s actually helpful

Why it works: People remember how you made them feel. Presence is powerful.

8. Quirky Rebel Emails Membership Engagement (2-4 hrs/week)

This is where the real magic lives. My membership is filled with bold-hearted coaches, and I show up for them like I mean it.

Here’s what I do:

  • Post prompts, tips, and reminders in our group

  • Review emails + offer feedback

  • Host co-working, Q&As, or member spotlights

  • Build the next wave of templates and tools for them to use

Why it works: I lead from within. My presence inside the membership is part of the value—and the joy.

So How Much Time Does This Take?

Roughly 16–22 hours a week.

No burnout. No pressure. Just sustainable, honest, values-aligned work that keeps my business growing and my life in balance. Because I’m not here to hustle harder. I’m here to help people—and still have a life worth living.

If you’ve been craving a gentler, simpler rhythm for your business—this is your sign. Borrow this schedule. Tweak it. Make it yours. And know that you’re allowed to grow without burning out.
